F A S H I O N // Min Kim: The seasons of women's life
I came across LCF masters student Min Kim through the ever amazing Ivania Carpio of Love Aesthetics, and imediatley fell in love.
My first reaction to this particular collection was the similarities and shape and form in both her work an my own- when I design, oversized and organic shapes are always my starting point, with print and textiles following closely behind.
Inspired by the 'pink frill dress phase' most of us girls go through growing up, Min took her oversized shapes from the big circular skirts and tulle dresses of her and her sisters childhood.
I don't think words can really describe how I feel about Min's collection- you know that heart fluttering and feeling of pent up energy you feel when you're inspired by something? Well, that's exactly how I feel everytime I look at these images. The soft cocoon shapes are stunning, and I'm sure you can all guess how I feel about the colour palette- perfect.
To be honest she makes me want to run home from work to continue designing just as much as she makes me want to wear her clothes, which for me is a wonderful combination of emotions.
I hope you all love her as much as I do

W O R K // Indulging: Acne Studios
I love my job, but after two indulgent days off work I really wasn't feeling that 5:45am wake up call to de-ice the car... Thankfully the early morning dread is completely
forgotten by the time I've warmed up and got to the studio.
Coming into work to find a rails of beautiful clothing and boxes of bags and shoes waiting for us makes my mornings a million times better. Yesterday I arrived to find a collection of snuggly mohair jumpers by Acne studios hanging next to my desk, and so I did what anyone would do- flung off my own Zara version and wrapped myself in this open knitted navy number. Sadly I only had five minutes with this baby before I had to peel it off and get back to work, but it was definitely five minutes well spent.
Another favourite of mine was this finely knitted striped jumper- the white colour blocks had such a delicate, almost translucent feel to it- Im in love...
Sadly I've had to leave them behind in the studio and I'm back to wearing my Zara turtle neck instead (sob), but I'm already excited to see what's waiting for me on Monday morning instead!
Happy Saturday!

N°3 Clarity
But I'll continue to try.
I wanted to share a couple of new Zara beauts with you.If you read my last post about Zara, you'll already know how I feel about them, but this season they really seem to be doing something so right.
I'd been looking for a crisp cropped shirt for a while, but none caught my eye quite like this one. The minimal cross over details had my heart racing, although admittedly it's not the easiest thing to wear. I am however very much looking forward to introducing it to my spring workwear wardrobe, where I'm sure it'll be very happy!
My wonderful boyfriend also treated me to this incredible cracked leather clutch that I've been obsessing over for ages- the best thing to come home to after a hectic day at work- and I've been cradling it ever since :)
Unlike a lot of roll top clutches, this one actually manages to keep it's shape. Not only does it go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe, it looks damn good displayed in my bedroom looking pretty... the ultimate multifunctional accessory?..
Who knows when the next time I'll make an outfit post will be. I can't wait for longer days and more daylight!
For now though I'm spending the rest of my saturday night in bed watching the breakfast club- Granny alert!

I wasn’t aware of Piece D’anarchive
before this season, but it’s hardly surprising this collection caught my eye.
Being someone who appreciates both street wear and sportswear but struggles to
fit them around my chaotic “awkward clumpy witch” wardrobe, this collection
felt like a breath of fresh air.
“Chapter 05” pretty much sums up everything
that excites me about fashion. Obsessive attention to detail, simplistic
shapes, monochrome layering, unisex styling, structured grids, clashing
textures, SQUARES and shit loads of lasercutting/devore- not to mention those
insane platforms! Mmmm
What I love most however is how they’ve
included those obvious street inspired elements (baseball caps, nikes/converse),
while successfully keeping that all important minimal pared back and high
quality feel, Plus it’s almost entirely monochrome.
Need I say more?

Shades of silence
Waiting for my hair to grow whilst covering my roots has never been so appealing. Fortunately for me I'm a hat person, (I have an incredibly vast collection of which I actually only ever wear about three), so bad hair days are easily disguised..
I came across these wide-brimmed beauties by shades of silence~ they really remind me of that beautiful charred version by Aleksandr Manamis (but actually within my budget). It amazes me how something as simple as a hat can turn a relatively dull outfit into a "holyshitthatlooksinsaaanee" kinda outfit.
Yea you know what I mean. Anyway, what do you think? Do you hat? Or don't you hat?

Hibernation
I haven't blogged in what feels like a century, and for once I only have one excuse- I have no life, and therefore nothing worth blogging about.
Depressing but kinda true. 5am starts and being in bed by 10pm doesn't really give me an awful lot of time to do anything that exciting, and at the moment my days are centred around comfort food and trying to keep warm.
So forgive me for having a pretty boring existence but to be honest I'm kind of revelling in this whole hibernation thing. Any excuse to stay inside and not have to see anyone suits me just fine.
Anyway, a couple of weeks ago a had a slight identity crisis/mini breakdown and decided I loved unicorns and glitter (after having donated any form of pretty clothing to my sister)...bad timing... As a result, I challenged myself to go shopping- the only rule being I wasn't allowed to buy anything black. At all.
Surprisingly I found it really easy to pick out clothes I wouldn't usually wear- pleated skirts, pastel fluffy jumpers and a loottt of chiffon, however the end result wasn't exactly how I imagined and I ended up wanting to vomit at my reflection.
And the only think I bought that day was an oversized black T-shirt.
Oh well. I tried.
Moral of the story here being, always wear black. The end.
Here's me in a new scarf- exciting. Also I managed to rescue my green contacts that I thought were past rescuing-- a little soak in contact solution and they're back to normal!
And here- have a hastily thrown together collage of tumblr inspiration (and a subtle love confession to Grimes)...
P.s you'll be pleased to know I have real life plans over the next few weeks (including being in the same room as Heechul next saturday- uuhhh yeaa)! So I may actually have something to write about. Yey.

Babes. 2013 edition.
I've been meaning to post this for so long now! There are so many people in this world that I wish I could meet and raid the wardrobes of, but here are a few of my select choices...
Enjoy!
Hirari Ikeda
Student
Works at Dog Harajuku
If you have any sort of interest in Tokyo street style then you’ll already be well aware of
Hirari. If not, then I’d still be pretty surprised if you haven’t seen her face before. I
literally fell in love with the way this girl dresses, and I just adore her sense of experimentation. I don't think she will ever fail to surprise me- one day she’ll have waist length locks, the next she’ll have shaved the entire lot off. In fact, I’ve loved pretty much every hairstyle she’s had, my personal favorite being her Mohawk (which then inspired my to have all mine cut off). Her ability to through together multiple graphic prints without looking ridiculous is incredible, and (another reason why I adore her), she masters the art of layering and awkward hem lengths despite her height- inspiring all us petite women everywhere!
I could happily spend hours pouring over her latest makeup looks, something I always
wish I was better at. She's probably one of the only people who not only fills me with inspiration, but al gives me the courage to think "fuck it- i love it, I'm gonna wear it."
G-dragon
Rapper, singer, songwriter, dancer, producer, fashion icon, and every other cool job in the world...
It would be a crime for me to talk about style icons and not include G-dragon. I'm thinking he'll probably always make it onto my list of style inspirations, no matter what my wardrobe is doing at the time. Having seen him grow from a (quite awfully dressed) trainee to someone who’s wardrobe I would trade my cat for, has been pretty exciting. Like Hirari I am always sat here waiting to see what beautiful new thing he'll wear next- and most importantly- what will his hair look like?! He's already done the mohawk, part shaved, floor length extensions etc etc, but I still believe there must be something he hasn't tired yet. Completely bald? I dunno, but whatever he does he somehow always manages to look fabulous. Probably because he’s G-dragon. Which is one reason why I’d never try an imitate his style- I’d rather sit and admire from afar please. And also because in my eyes, this boy can do no wrong. Ever.
Brooke Candy
Rapper
Brooke pretty much embodies everything I loved when I was thirteen, however she works the chav look 50000 times better than I ever did. All I remember from that period in my life is overly plucked eyebrows and a lot of blue eyeliner. I don’t know how she does it, but Brooke actually makes me feel nostalgic for my pre-pubescent ‘what is fashion?’ stage -, and somehow I’ve ended up digging out my old £3 tacky gold hoops, bleaching my hair and feeling the need to get cornrows. Also, if you're sick of seeing Miley’s booty everywhere then check out Brooke’s instead because it's five million times better. Seriously. Reasons I adore her- her ‘ LOVE THY SISTER’ attitude ! Representing the women of today- pro slut, pro woman, pro just everything fun and loving please. Finally. Thankyou Brooke- maybe maybe we can actually start supporting each other! oh, and I know they say "if you wore the trend the first time round, don't wear it again" (or whatever that stupid phrase is), but I kinda fancy digging that eyeliner out again...
Creepyyeha
Designer
This lovely lady is a pretty new addition to my current list of style icons, but a very worthy one. In fact, she actually makes me feel a little depressed about my life- she's twenty, and she's already set up this amazing accessories brand. And what do I do with my spare time? Watch anime in my pyjamas. Well.
Despite my obvious jealousy over her sheer amazing-ness, she perfectly embodies that whole creepy yet still ridiculous pretty and kinda cute thing that I love. A look that I can never seem to pull off myself (give it time, perhaps I’ll stop being so lazy). Her combination of fetish accessories/ underwear combined with pretty little baby doll dresses and satin shorts is so perfect it's makes me want to cry. Oh, and all that monochrome- mmm baby. Anyway you can see more of her beautiful self HERE and you can check out her store HERE!
There are still a million more people I'd love to add to this list, but it would probably go on forever, and i'm way too tired for that shit. In fact I am currently sat in bed writing this with a hot water bottle (finally the UK turns autumnal)! I've been waiting for the cold for so long! I'll probably make another one of these soonish as it was pretty fuunnn.
What do you guys think? Who are your current style icons?

What did I do last week?
I actually really enjoyed making my last instagram post- Usually it'll come to the start of a new week and I'll wonder what the hell I even did the week before, but not anymore! I love having the last seven days laid out in front of me, it just goes to show that you actually do get a lot done in the course of a week...

We went skating!
The majority of my favourite bloggers always include posts about they're everyday lives, and most of the time it's these posts I look forward to reading the most.
As much as I love fashion/art/design, I'm surrounded by it everyday and thinking about it constantly, so sometimes it's just nice to do something else for a change. This is why I actually really love reading about what people do with their free time and how they spend their weekends.
Up until about two months ago, my weekends were spent in the exact same way as my weekdays- slaving away at uni over my final collection- so I've been making the most out of them now, and am cramming as much fun shit into two days as I possibly can!
Last weekend one of my favourite people in the whole world (Amy), came to visit me, and we spent two days doing pretty much everything we didn't do as kids- including the aquarium and ROLLER SKATINNGGG!
Why I've never been to a roller disco in my life I don't know- but clearly I've been missing out! And I'll admit I was pretty damn good for a first-timer (until I fell over and almost died).
It was honestly the most fun I've had in ages, and I literally had no idea this place was even here- (It's a pop-up one just next to Central Saint Martins, but I'm not sure how long it's there for)... So I'm really glad Amy suggested we check it out :)
Also the food was TO DIE FOR- seriously I've never eaten a burger that amazing before- I'm not even sure what it was that made it so good, but OH.MY.GOD.
Salivating thinking about it...
All hail the mother of all burgers- beef, pickled onions, and cheese with pineapple and bacon jam-- ohhhh baby
Now to plan how I'll spend this weekend! Sleeping?...Hope you all have a wonderful couple of days off! Here, have some G-dragon...

THE BEST FASHION BLOGS! (according to me)...
Now, I know it's become pretty routine for me to start every blog post with the same "I'm sorry I'm such a crap blogger" shit, so for once I won't say it (despite it being very true)!
I am however finding it very hard to juggle my new job (complete with wonderful 5am starts), with finding the time to do everything else I love- drawing, painting and designing- not to mention studying and exercising.
Seriously though, I get in from work and just face plant my bed for the whole evening I'm that tired. But hopefully I'll get used to the routine, and I'll be back to my usual multi tasking self in no time!
For the last few weeks however, my appreciation for my favourite bloggers has reached a whole new level- what else would I do on my commute if they weren't there to read every morning?!
I know everyone has their favourites- and I mean the ones that you obsessively check daily...hourly?.. despite knowing they haven't actually posted anything new, and almost wetting yourself when they eventually appear on your dashboard. You know, the ones you feel are already your best friends (despite never having said a word to), that you secretly wish were you, or wish you were with... These are the bloggers I'm talking about. I have many, but the three I'm going to talk about here are the ones whose perfection I will happily spend my morning train journeys crying over (only a slight exaggeration)... Enjoy!
1. Iris and Daniel of we have no style
They also have a Tumblr for which they take turns in posting their current inspirations/ obsessions-- well worthy of a follow :)
2. Ivania Carpio of Love- aesthetics
I'd be very much surprised if Ivania didn't make it onto almost everyone's list of favourite bloggers. She's doing something really quite amazing at the minute (which yes, a lot of people are trying to re-create), but she is by far the current queen of the minimal world.
I much as I love her sense of 'less is more' (I think we all could learn a lot from her in terms of fast fashion and waste), but what I really love are her DIY projects. Anyone who is willing to share their passion for creating with the world, and who strive to inspire thousands of others to revel in their creativity is worthy of my utmost respect.
On an almost daily basis I see her giving advice to young teenagers who are struggling to define themselves in terms of their style, and it's wonderful to see someone encouraging them to just be bold and creative, to wear whatever the hell they want regardless of how others perceive them..
Where was she when I was thirteen?!
You can also find her Tumblr hereeeee
There are obviously 45990033000 other blogs that I absolute adore, but unfortunately I neither have the time (nor patience) to write about every single one! I will however leave you with my two favourite girls Amy and Michaela who will probably continue doing a much better job at regularly updating than myself! Plus I always love reading what they're up to now that I'm no longer living with and stalking them 24/7...
I'll write again in another million years
Lots of looveee Hannah

1. Iris and Daniel of we have no style
I am not exaggerating when I say these two make me weep on an almost daily basis. From their impeccable styling to their perfect layouts (seriously their blog is worth checking out for the editing alone), they somehow manage to inspire me in a way no other blog has been able to.
Perhaps it's something to do with their very down-to-earth approach to both dressing and writing I'm not sure, but if I feel like I could relate to anyone in the fashion blogging world, it would be these two.
I can't be easy sharing a blog with someone else- or maybe I'm just too controlling to imagine it- but they just look so good together! It must be an incredible feeling to find a friend who just 'gets' what you're doing, and I feel like these two have that with each other...
Oh, and they have this magical thing going on where they can pull off literally anything- especially Daniel- he always looks incredible.
They also have a Tumblr for which they take turns in posting their current inspirations/ obsessions-- well worthy of a follow :)

Follow her on Tumblr for more snapshots of her outfit and DIY posts (and the odd photo of her beautiful boyfriend)...
3. Kri of Kri fashion+beauty+lifestyle
My initial reaction after discovering Kri's blog earlier this year was "OH MY GOD, finally someone who can actually manage my hairstyle"! It was fate, and I've been an avid fan of her blog ever since.
For someone who openly admits that she "barely knows shit" about fashion, her styling is amazing and she always always looks incredible. Sometimes I actually think she's so cool that she scares me a little bit, but that doesn't stop me from admiring absolutely every outfit she puts together- and she always looks so effortless, sigh.
But she's not just one of those OOTD blogs (thank God)- her hair tutorials are some of the best I've come across, and I especially love her G-dragon and Zelo inspired videos, a must watch for anyone who needs the occasional motivation to style their shaved head (ie me)...
I'm also a fan of her incredibly blunt "I don't give a fuck, this is me" style of writing, which just makes me feel like I can relate to everything she talks about, and I'm not gonna lie- I'm pretty sure I have a massive crush on this woman...

Eudon Choi for River Island!
I have never been this excited about a high street collaboration ever! It was announced today that Korean-born, London based designer Eudon Choi will be teaming up with River Island to create a 16 piece collection released on the 23rd September.
There is valid reason for my excitement, the first being the fact come LFW his collection is the one I'm always most excited to see, and I'm yet to be disappointed. My absolute favourite (and a collection I still wistfully dream about wearing) was his S/S 13 collection- clean lines, simple yet futuristic shapes and fabrics that just make me melt! Apparently Eudon's first high street range will feature "soft leathers, streamlines shapes and biker detailing- all in a carefully put-together colour palette."
I could cry with happiness!
The collection will be launched with a short film during LFW on the 15th of September and will available to buy on the 23rd. I think it's safe to say I'll be joining the rest of the UK preparing myself to fight my way through the crowds- and I'm not usually the kinda person who can ever be bothered to physically exert myself when shopping - but for this, I will make an exception!

Inspiration of the week 30.06.13
I have had nothing of much interest to post about recently as my days currently seem to consist of job hunting, reading and drawing, so finding things that inspire me (everyday) is slightly frustrating when I don't have much of a creative outlet right now.
For now though I leave you with three images that I fell in love with this week:
Short angular hair
Gold lip cuffs at Astrid Andersen

Molly Goddard, make me a fairy princess!
I'm sure most of you will remember CSM graduate Molly Goddard's final collection from 2012- I know I have- which is why at the beginning of the year when I discovered she was planning a collection with ASOS, I knew I'd be making this post at some point.
It was a really pleasant surprise to hear that ASOS were teaming up with an undergraduate (finally)! And I'm incredibly glad they did..
For someone who usually steers clear of anything overtly feminine and pretty (more from fear than anything else I think), it's strange to think how much I fell in love with this collection. I think what I really loved about her dresses were the transparent tulle "shells" layered over the delicate crocheted pieces worn underneath. For something so reminiscent of the little frilly party dresses I was (thankfully rarely) stuffed into as a child, it's surprising just how wearable they are!
I've spent the past few weeks imagining them layered over the majority of my current wardrobe and getting ridiculously over-excited. Kinda depressing that I can't actually afford them.
They have however inspired many a future DIY project for me this summer- I'm picturing a whole closet of transparent tulle t-shirts and mini dresses now- finally, something girly that can still be combined with my masculine wardrobe-horrahh!
Another designer who manages to perfect the art of lacy frills is Japanese designer Etsuna Otsuka, who's hand-made transparent baby doll dresses are absolutely TO DIE FOR!
Check her stuff out, I know you'll love it!
For now I'm off to raid the fabric shops!

Touch sensitive
Better late than never! I remembered earlier I hadn't yet made this post... During GFW (a long time ago now), one of my dressers' happened to be browsing through the twenty//2 gfw newspaper and discovered a shoot of one of my pieces.
I always find it interesting to see and how other people perceive my work and it's quite amazing being able to take a step back from it and look at it from a different perspective...

Breathe
I always crave a minimal (almost clinical) style of dress whenever the rest of my life feels in disarray. Right now I wish I had a crisp white pinafore and a freshly shaven head. Sadly I have neither.
(most) images do not belong to me.
Remember when I had hair?..
Until I get my life in order (and do something worthy of a blog post), I'll leave you with 'My Lady' by Exo
I'd been waiting for this song since that very first teaser last year (You know, the one with Kai frolicking in the rain)..Hnnngg..
I actually think this may be one of my favourite Kpop songs ever (which I know is probably something I say all the time), but it's just so lovely and chilled out- and D.O's voice makes me melt.
Enjoy!

GFW- Northampton
Graduate fashion week already seems an absolute lifetime ago now, so trying to write this post now is slightly harder than I thought it would be, and so I don't waffle on too much I'm just going to write about a couple of collections that mean quite a lot to me...
Starting with my own... to be honest it was all a little bit of a blur, and I spent the majority of the Bath Spa/Northampton show feeling like I was going to throw up, so I was incredibly relieved that none of my nylon tubes shed on the catwalk (as we all dramatically envisioned), no one tripped over the jellyfish and died (although to be honest if she'd fallen in that I'm pretty certain she'd just bounce straight back up), it generally everything went pretty smoothly.
As lovely as some of the press releases have been on my work, I still look at it and criticise every little detail that I know could have been better. What's most depressing though is there's still so much more I want to learn and so much more I want to try out, buutt I guess that's what an MA is for!
The main inspiration for my collection came from a trip to Japan last summer where I spent about three weeks pretty much falling in love with all their modern architecture. I came back home and just spent weeks drawing from all the imagery I'd taken (and wishing I was still there) and my colour palette of blues and soft greys just kind of evolved from all my drawings, paintings ad colour swatches. My actual final pieces came from me modelling directly onto the stand with shit loads of nylon tubular crin- lengths knitted with broomsticks to create oversized jumpers, folded into hundreds of loops and tied into oversized bunches to create "jellyfish" like structures.
There are quite a few details that couldn't really be picked up on the catwalk, one of the being the little hand-knitted and hand-dyed squares stitched in a gradient onto blue stretch net, and the devore skirts (one of which took about two months to scrub out with a tiny toothbrush).. I could probably talk about my work for the rest of life, but I'd bore the shit out of you all, so I talk a little bit about two other textile collections that really stand out for me...
The first is by Emma Parker. I seriously spent the majority of this year just staring at her work thinking "oh my God this is incredible, why the hell isn't this my collection?!" Then looking back at my own work and wanting to spit on it in dusgust. But seriously, I don't think I've ever met anyone who's as clever as she is in the way she manipulates and experiments with every media she uses. She used fur in the majority of her collection, but in ways I'd never seen before. It was so exciting to come into the studio every morning to see yet another new and amazing creation in her work space. Her use of devore was something that I really loved as well as again, it was used in a way that not many people had thought possible...
I'm not gonna lie, her collection was probably my favourite out of our year group (and quite possibly the whole of GFW), so I feel pretty privileged to have been there watching it grow and evolve into this amazing creation below...
Secondly is Kiran Bassan's collection.
Her collection is quite literally an exact reflection of her personality- bright, vibrant, fun and just generally pretty damn amazing!
And as many of you are probably already aware it was her beautifully layered hand-printed pieces that bagged her the Zandra Rhodes Textile award! I can't even begin to describe the painstakingly long hours she spent hand printing metre upon metre of jersey, silk and organza, (then waiting for each layer to dry before doing it all over again), not to mention the time she spent shredding her over-sized kimono type pieces...
It got to the point where we were quite literally crying whilst pinning fabric onto the backing cloth (seriously, if I never had to pin again I'd be the happiest person on the planet)!
I'm sure she'll agree though that every painful minute spent slaving away in the print room definitely worth it! Her work is absolutely beautiful and I am proud to say I was the first ever person to try on that orange jacket at the front! (Hellll yea)!
I'm so immensely proud of everyone, and although I only mentioned a couple of people in this post I have to say that I loved every single one of the collections we showed this year, and I feel so privileged to have worked alongside so many talented and creative designers.
I can safely say I wouldn't be the person I am, and my work wouldn't be what it is now without the support and encouragement of everyone in my year, in fact I can't actually imagine how I'm going to get by without them....
Oh God!
Goooodnight!
