Breathe

I always crave a minimal (almost clinical) style of dress whenever the rest of my life feels  in disarray. Right now I wish I had a crisp white pinafore and a freshly shaven head. Sadly  I have neither.

(most) images do not belong to me.

Remember when I had hair?..

Until I get my life in order (and do something worthy of a blog post), I'll leave you with 'My Lady' by Exo
I'd been waiting for this song since that very first teaser last year (You know, the one with Kai frolicking in the rain)..Hnnngg..
I actually think this may be one of my favourite Kpop songs ever (which I know is probably something I say all the time), but it's just so lovely and chilled out- and D.O's voice makes me melt.
Enjoy!

I don't know..

I've been a really awful blogger recently and haven't written a post for ages- thankfully I can say goodbye to my dissertation next week and I might (possibly) find time to do something fun enough to blog about..

The only thing of any interest that has happened to me recently is a quite drastic haircut. I'd been toying with the idea of cutting all my hair off for a few years, but always ended up being convinced I wouldn't look 'pretty' anymore, so I never did.
To be honest, I couldn't care less how 'pretty' I look, and I've found that I actually feel more myself with shorter hair. I'm not sure how that's even possible, but there you go.
The only downsides are having to actually style it in the morning (before I rarely even used to brush my hair), so it's taken some getting used to. Oh, and I tend to look like a 12 year old boy now, but Oh well.

Sister by Sibling

At last I'm getting round to writing about the collections that have caught my attention so far during London Fashion week. Usually I feel compelled to spend hours online catching up on every catwalk show and exhibition, but this season I'm allowing myself to freely indulge in what's going on outside of the shows.
I've always been excited by what people are wearing in the street- the more carefree and creative the better- and at the moment I'm finding myself more and more drawn to street style- especially to those who look as though they've crawled out of bed, ran through their wardrobe and stumbled out the other side draped in contrasting layers or wearing trousers as a shirt... Or maybe just those who appear to have fun with what they wear and don't take themselves too seriously.
As much as I feel my tutor may disapprove of this, I'll say it anyway- I've never found myself inspired by trends. Being someone who prefers to develop their own style over a long period of time (something I'm still doing to this day), I find trends too fickle, too false to ever be particularly excited by them. Although I have to be aware of what people will want to wear each season for the next few years, I don't actually care. I like designing for people who enjoy experimenting with their style, and who don't base their appearance on what everyone else is wearing.
Perhaps this is why Sister by Sibling's A/W 2013 collection appeals so much to me. There's just something really fun about this collection (which was originally inspired by Paula Yates), and I found myself getting ridiculously over-excited by their huge knitted jumpers. I can picture myself comfortably huddled in one every winter until I'm about 80...
Plus, I always love down-to-earth designers who make you feel as though you can relate to them, which is exactly how I feel about Sid Bryan, Joe Bates and Cozette McCreery...

For now I'll leave you with four of my favourites!

The piece on the right though.. ughh so wonderful I don't know what to do with myself..
