Sou Fujimoto!

As most of you who read anything I post about, you'll already be well aware of my love affair with modern architecture, so I could have kissed Emmie when she suggested we go to the Serpentine a couple of weeks ago.
Sou Fujimoto is someone whose work I've always loved and can recognise anywhere, but don't actually know that much about. His pavilion installation is something I've been meaning to admire first hand for flippin' ages, but hadn't got round to until now...

I'll probably make a separate post about him another time, as I could rattle on and on about his use of negative space, and the way he manages to combine both nature and artificiality to create these incredible organic structures that make me want to cry!
But for now, here's us looking really pretty...

Emmie looking like the little babe she is
We originally set out to spend the day being as cultural and arty as possible, and ended up spending most of our day fangirling over ice cream in wholefoods, pulling disgusting faces and obsessing over all the foods we couldn't afford to eat.
Somehow we did manage to include a few exhibition in there too- in fact there's a lot at the Saachi Gallery at the moment that was just incredible, so if you're in the area go GO GOOoo!
And of course I couldn't help but drag her into Muji on the way home so I could cry at all the pointless but really cure things I can buy when I EVENTUALLY get paid..

I leave you with a song. It's been stuck in my head all week, so now it can be stuck in yours
x
