Tread softly

I think it was my trip to Japan that made my aware of my love of moss. Those quiet shady temple gardens reminded me just how beautiful moss can be. As a child it covered my grandparents garden (much to their annoyance), but I loved it. That spongey warming texture and strong earthy smell. It's comforting to me now. Relaxing.
If I had it my way, our garden would be covered with the stuff- all flowing streams, covered rocks and dark shade. Sadly I don't have much say on our choice of terrain, so I have to get my moss fix elsewhere.
I came across Mosser a few days ago, and I've fallen in love with the idea of growing my own teeny moss baby for my desk. Admittedly, the price is a little steep ($26 for an already grown and $50 for a grow your own kit), but I think the idea is adorable. Besides, I'm sure with a little research it'll be very possible to gather the necessities needed to create our own. I'm imagining this little cutie sitting happily next to my ginseng tree on my desk while I draw, ahhh....
